Zeus was the youngest son of Cronus, hidden in a cave on Crete so that his father would not find him. He grew, returned and freed his brothers and sisters. Together they overthrew the Titans.
The Cyclopes forged him the thunderbolt. From Olympus he rules the sky: the gathering cloud, the rain and the lightning. The eagle is his bird and the oak is his tree.
